Privacy Policy

Nuhro ("we", "us", "our") provides this mobile application (the "App") to connect members of our parish community around church life, events, business and job listings, and service requests. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the App, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

By creating an account or otherwise using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

Account information you provide. When you register, we collect your first and last name, email address, password, phone number, date of birth, country, nationality, home address, marital status, and sex. If you are a resident of Kuwait, we also collect your official ID type and a copy of your Civil ID or Residency document for identity verification.

Profile content. You may add a profile photo, and update your role and company at any time.

User-generated content. If you submit a business, job, or skill/service listing, or a service request (e.g. a certificate, sacrament, or priest-visit request), we collect the details you provide — such as titles, descriptions, contact phone numbers and emails, photos, and any information requested by the specific request type.

Automatically collected information. We collect device information (device model, operating system, app version), a push-notification token, and IP address for security purposes (each request to our servers is cryptographically signed to prevent tampering).

Information from others. Parish administrators may add or update information about you (e.g. approving your account, responding to a service request) as part of operating the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account, and verify your identity where required (e.g. Kuwait residents' official ID);
To operate core features: publishing business/job/skill listings after review, processing service requests, and showing you church events and announcements;
To send you push notifications and emails about your account, submissions, and parish announcements (you can turn off non-essential notifications in Settings);
To maintain the security and integrity of the App, detect and prevent fraud or abuse;
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

With parish administrators, who review and approve/decline business, job, and skill listings, and who respond to service requests;
With service providers who help us run the App, such as our hosting provider, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) for push notifications and email-delivery services — under contracts that limit their use of your data to providing these services to us;
With other users, but only the information you choose to make public — for example, the contact details you enter into an approved business, job, or skill listing are visible to anyone browsing that listing;
When required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the parish, or others.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. When you request account deletion (Account → Delete Account, confirmed with your password), we deactivate your account and revoke your access immediately; your personal data is then permanently deleted from our active systems, except where we are required to retain certain records for legal, accounting, or security purposes.

5. Your Rights

You can, at any time, from within the App:

View and update your profile information (Account → Edit Profile);
Manage or delete your business, job, and skill listings;
Withdraw a submitted service request;
Control which push notifications you receive (Account → Notification Settings);
Switch the App's language (English, Arabic, French);
Request deletion of your account and associated personal data (Account → Delete Account).

To exercise any right not available directly in the App — including requesting a copy of your data — contact us using the details in Section 10.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted network transport, cryptographically signed API requests, hashed passwords, and access-controlled admin systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Where the App references activities involving minors (such as Sunday School or First Communion), the relevant registration or request is submitted by a parent or legal guardian using their own account. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside of your country of residence. Where this occurs, we take steps to ensure your information continues to receive an appropriate level of protection.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes in the App or by email, and update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
